Gaby Ooms

As a health scientist with specialisation in global health, Gaby manages Health Action International’s (HAI) Health Systems Advocacy (HSA) Partnership research programme on sexual and reproductive health, with a specific focus on the price, availability and affordability of sexual and reproductive health commodities. She also provides input into research components across the organisation’s projects.

Gaby has been involved in HAI’s research projects since 2016, when, as an intern, she researched access to controlled medicines in Uganda. This was followed by additional research at into the mental health treatment gap in Sub-Saharan Africa. She also completed an internship at the non-governmental organisation, Fundación IFARMA, in Colombia, where she researched the compulsory licensing processes in Colombia and Ecuador.

Gaby holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Health Sciences and a Research Master of Sciences in Global Health.
