By supporting Health Action International, you’re helping to make medicines safe, effective, affordable and available for people around the world.
At least 2.3 billion men, women and children worldwide can’t access the medicines they need. Your generous donation helps us tackle the root causes of this problem by enabling us to:
HAI has been designated by the Dutch Tax Authority as an Algemeen Nut Beogende Instelling (ANBI- Public Benefit Institution). The ANBI status entails tax benefits for HAI as well as for donors. Donors can, under certain conditions, deduct both one-off and periodic donations from income or corporate tax.
To obtain the ANBI status HAI has to contribute at least 90% of our efforts to the public benefit, for example to health care, development cooperation or education. In addition, HAI must meet a number of conditions, like being a not-for-profit organisation and disclosing contact details, financial data, policy plan and current activities on the website.
For US-based donors, HAI has obtained a certificate from NGO Source certifying that HAI is equivalent to 501(c) (3) organisations and therefore tax-exempt. The certificate is available for all members of NGO Source. Learn more here.
