Statement | 1 April 2016 | Download PDF
The World Health Organization’s (WHO) Expert Committee on the Selection and Use of Essential Medicines met in the week of 1 April 2019 to discuss applications for inclusion on the Model List of Essential Medicines. External parties were invited to provide submissions in favour or against inclusion during an Open Session of the Committee on 1 April.
The Addressing the Challenge and Constraints of Insulin Sources and Supply (ACCISS) Study made a statement to the Committee asking them to reject an application to include long-lasting analogue insulin on the list.
The statement was delivered, on our behalf, by the former WHO Director for Essential Medicines and Pharmaceutical Policies, Dr Hans Hogerzeil.
