We are tremendously saddened to have learned of the passing of our friend and colleague, Royjan Taylor, who died unexpectedly on Wednesday 12 June 2019 in hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
Royjan was a leading figure in efforts to tackle the global snakebite crisis and reduce unnecessary deaths and disabilities in communities. His warmth, dedication and determination to make a difference to the lives of countless people in snakebite endemic regions across the world was an inspiration. We are honoured to have had the opportunity to work with him over the last few years. His loss will be felt deeply in his beloved Kenya, where his tireless work with local communities as Director of Bio-Ken Snake Farm and the James Ashe Antivenom Trust touched and saved the lives of so many.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences go to Royjan’s friends and family, in particular his wife, Clare, and their two children.
We will miss him greatly.
