On 16 July we mark World Snake Day, celebrating the remarkable diversity and ecological importance of the world’s more than 3,500 snake species. The day aims to challenge common misconceptions about snakes, promote greater understanding of their vital role in healthy ecosystems, and raise awareness of the need for their conservation. Join us in celebrating these often-misunderstood animals by learning the facts, supporting conservation efforts, and helping to spread evidence-based information about snakes and snakebite prevention.
