In 2021, we celebrate the centenary of the discovery of insulin by the Canadian scientists Frederick Banting and Charles Best, followed a year later by the first person receiving insulin treatment. This ground-breaking milestone changed the outlook for people living with type 1 diabetes from a death sentence to a manageable chronic disease. To mark this life saving discovery, a resolution will be proposed for inclusion on the agenda of the 74th World Health Assembly (WHA74) in 2021. In place of a physical side event at this year’s WHA because of COVID-19, we will host a virtual event to highlight the issues pertaining to insulin access and help inform discussions and drafting of the resolution.
Join us for an Online Panel Discussion and Q&A
This event brings together people living with diabetes, clinicians, civil society, government and industry to find a common path towards improving access to insulin for all in need.
When: Wednesday 17 June, 15.00 – 16.30 CEST
