WHA Resolution on Access to Insulin

Hear from people living with diabetes, healthcare professionals, civil society, World Health Organization and others as we discuss the path towards a WHA resolution to improve access to insulin.

Geplaatst door Health Action International op Woensdag 17 juni 2020

In 2021, we celebrate the centenary of the discovery of insulin by the Canadian scientists Frederick Banting and Charles Best, followed a year later by the first person receiving insulin treatment. This ground-breaking milestone changed the outlook for people living with type 1 diabetes from a death sentence to a manageable chronic disease. To mark this life saving discovery, a resolution will be proposed for inclusion on the agenda of the 74th World Health Assembly (WHA74) in 2021. In place of a physical side event at this year’s WHA because of COVID-19, we will host a virtual event to highlight the issues pertaining to insulin access and help inform discussions and drafting of the resolution.

Join us for an Online Panel Discussion and Q&A

This event brings together people living with diabetes, clinicians, civil society, government and industry to find a common path towards improving access to insulin for all in need.

When: Wednesday 17 June, 15.00 – 16.30 CEST
