International Snakebite Awareness Day 2023 (#ISBAD23) is a significant day to recognize the work achievements and challenges of Snakebite Community Educators worldwide. Part of this amazing work is carried out by inspiring leaders that make up the Women Champions of Snakebite (WOCOS) and the Snakebite Community Engagement Network (SCEN).
Since WHO’s landmark decision to list snakebite envenoming as a neglected tropical disease in 2017, much has been achieved in effort to reduce the burden of snakebite. It’s time to recount these moments of fulfilment and disseminate the positive impact reached among snakebite affected communities.
