The 78th World Health Assembly (WHA) will convene in May 2025. The WHA is the decision-making body of the World Health Organization (WHO). The Assembly is attended by delegations from all WHO Member States and focuses on a specific health agenda prepared by the Executive Board.

This year, Health Action International will be co-hosting two side events during the WHA, covering transparency and adolescent sexual and reproductive health. See below for more information on these side events and how register to join.

Pharmaceutical Transparency: From Resolution to Reality (Report Launch)

This side event marks the launch of our joint report ‘Pharmaceutical transparency: from resolution to reality‘, in which we highlight the steps taken in different countries to implement WHA resolution 72.8. Our event will gather policymakers and civil society representatives to discuss the current state of the implementation, as well as recommendations to continue translating the commitments into reality.

Empowerment in Action: Shaping the Future of Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health in Global Health

During this side event, we will discuss evidence and best-practices from EU co-funded adolescent SRHR programmes, insights and reflections from adolescent youth champions, and action points and recommendations to integrate adolescent SRHR into global health policies. This event will be hybrid (online and in-person) with English-French translation available.
