National and global political will to improve the situation in snakebite-endemic countries isn’t the only thing needed. Stable funding from global health donors is also crucial for the World Health Organization and affected countries to curb snakebite’s devastating impact. Many of the necessary tools are already available and waiting to be implemented or expanded. The potential social and economic gains are enormous. And every life and limb that can be saved is well worth the investment.
For foundations and donors: To support the global fight against snakebite, email Health Action International’s Snakebite Programme Manager, Ben Waldmann.
For private donors: Even small donations are appreciated because they help us to expand HAI’s Snakebite Programme to reduce the death and disability caused by snakebite envenoming in communities throughout Kenya, Uganda, and Zambia.
